Is AeroFloat really free?

Yes. AeroFloat is distributed free outside the Microsoft Store by Affan Khan Wadood (SloopNodge). Download the installer from GitHub Releases.

Do I need administrator rights to install?

No. The installer targets your user profile (Local AppData), so no UAC prompt or admin password is required.

Will it slow down my games?

No — the Deep Sleep hook detects fullscreen games and completely unloads the wallpaper render pipeline, dropping its cost to idle until you return to the desktop.

Can I add my own wallpapers?

Yes. Drop looping .mp4 files into Assets/Wallpapers/Games, Anime, or Cars inside the install folder — the dashboard rescans them automatically.

Windows says "Windows protected your PC" — is AeroFloat safe?

Yes — this is Microsoft Defender SmartScreen, and it appears for every new independent app that hasn't yet built download reputation with Microsoft. It is not a virus warning. AeroFloat is open source, so you can inspect every line of code on GitHub. To install: click More info on the blue screen, then Run anyway. The warning disappears automatically for everyone once enough users have installed AeroFloat.
